"Go say hi to him!" Wendy pushed. "He's cute, and he keeps looking at you! Come on!"
I shook my head. "No way. Im not going over that, forget it!" i shot her a playful glare and continued looking through the movies, ignoring her whines and groans.
"Lilly!" she whined. "I love you, but you're being an idiot right now. Go over there this instant or i'll embarrass the crap out of you!"
I sighed. "Fine, you owe me..." i growled and turned on my heels, sauntering over to the boy. He didn't seem to notice me, just kept looking through the comedy movies.
I cleared my throat as i stood at his side, and his chocolate brown eyes met mine. He smiled lightly and i returned it happily; he was cute. "Hi," he grinned.
"Hi," i repeated. "My, lousy..." i looked over my shoulder at Wendy who was watching us with a proud smile. "Friend.. over there, urged me to come over here and say hi to you. She says you keep looking at me," i smirked.
He chuckled nervously and glanced down at the ground, then back up at me. "Yeah... its hard not to," he smirked at me. "Im Sam!" He stuck his hand out, waiting for me to shake, which i did gladly.
"Lilly," i introduced myself.
He dropped his hand from mine. "Well, Lilly.. im grabbing a movie, if you wanna join...?"
I laughed slightly and nodded. "Sure, lemme go tell my friend." I wheeled around and walked over to Wendy. "I got a date," i smirked as she squealed.
"See! I knew it would be a good idea," she winked. "Go have fun."
I nodded and walked back to Sam. "K, all set."
"Perfect date, eh?" he lead me into his living room. "Watching 'I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry'!"
I laughed. "I think its great," i smiled and sat down on the couch while he sat it up. "Its funny. I like funny."
He sat down next to me. "Then it is great," he smiled down at me.
My cheeks got hot and i looked away, back to the TV screen as the movie started. He chuckled and slipped his arm over the back of the couch behind my shoulders.
Half-way through the movie, Sam's arm slipped down over my shoulder. Hey, I’m not complaining.
“Alright, alright…” I giggled. “I’m coming, chill your tits.” I followed Sam toward the Ice Cream shop as he pulled me along.
It’s been a couple months of Sam and I’s friendship. And I cannot lie; I’m starting to fall… He’s sweet, loving, funny, and just… awesome. He would never feel the same though, I’m sure… I’m just average…
I sat at the table, taking my chocolate ice cream from Sam and giggling like a little kid. “Thank you,” I said.
He grinned at me. “Anything for you, Lilly,” he replied.
“Cheesy butt,” I joked.
He kissed my cheek, making my face heat up. I knew I was blushing. “Is that cheesy enough for you?” he joked.
I laughed and looked at him. “Quite.”
He chuckled and stared at me. I pursed my lips nervously, watching his eyes flicker to my lips then back to my eyes. He smiled slightly and leaned in, moving deadly slow, until his lips brushed against mine. I leaned in, pressing our lips rightly together.
My heart beat was going crazy, and my stomach was doing a billion flips. I’ve never felt like this ever before, I loved it.
He pulled away slightly and grinned. “I’ve wanted to do that ever since you came over for a movie,” he admitted.
I giggled. “You’re not alone on that…”
We finished our ice creams and started walking toward the park. On our way, he shyly slipped his hand into mine, making me smile and blush lightly.
He came to a sudden stop, and I looked at him, seeing a pained expression on his face. “Sam? Are you alright?” I frowned confused, looking at him carefully.
He gripped his chest, and collapsed to the floor. I gasped and knelt beside him. “Sam?! Sam?!” I shouted, catching a few people’s attention. Sweat dripped from his forehead, and I started to freak out. I pulled out my phone and dialed 911.
“The- the ambulance is on their way, Sam…” I whispered, tears slipped down my cheeks as he gasped for air.
I paced back and forth in the waiting room, anxiously waiting for someone to tell me what was going on. The doctors wouldn’t answer my questions.
“Excuse me, miss?” I turned around, facing the doctor. “I’m Dr. Smith, you’re here with Mr. Sam, am I correct?”
I nodded. “I-Is he OK? What happened?”
“He may not have told you,” he Dr. Smith began. “He’s been suffering from severe blood clots… It’s been building up to where he had a heart attack.”
I gasped, my hands going over my mouth in shock. “Oh my god…” I whispered.
“He’s stable right now,” he added. “But we’re not sure how long he will stay that way… You can see him now, if you want.”
I nodded, following him to Sam’s room. The doctor left us alone, shutting the door behind him. I sat next to Sam’s bed in the little chair, staring at the ground.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” I whispered and looked up to his eyes as he stared at me.
“I didn’t want you to worry,” he said quietly.
I choked out a sob. “Well, now I’m damn scared, Sam!” I exclaimed. “You could die, for all I know… I- I can’t lose you, it’s not fair! I just got you,” I whispered the last part, letting the tears fall.
He grabbed my hand, holding it his. I looked up at his tired face, tears clearly visible in his eyes. “I love you, Lilly…” he whispered. “You’ll never lose me, I’ll never leave you.”
“Promise?” I whispered.
He smiled lightly and nodded. “Yes, now come here…” He patted the bed beside him and I climbed up, resting my head very lightly on his chest. “You’re not going to break me, Lil…” he chuckled.
“You never know,” I smiled lightly and cuddled into him, shutting my eyes.
One Month Later…
I walked into the hospital, giving a small smile to the desk clerk. Everyone knew me here now, since I come every day I get the chance to see Sam. The doctors say he’s doing fine, but I’m still very worried.
I walked into his room, seeing an empty bed neatly made. My heart stopped. “Oh God,” I whispered, tears swelling in my eyes. Where is he? Did- Did he-
“Lil…” I spun around, seeing a fully-dressed, grinning Sam.
“S-Sam,” I stuttered. “W-What?”
“I’m all better,” he chuckled. “I wanted to surprise you…” He pulled me into a tight hug.
My tears of fear stopped, now it was tears of joy. I had my Sam back. He was better. He was OK…
Told you it would suck xD
