Carter- 1) My Girlfriend Collapses

Author's Note:
Hey guys! Before I begin, I would like to say that this is my idea for the fourth book of the Kane Chronicles. I heard that there's not going to be a fourth book, but I still wanted to create one. You need to know the first three books to understand the story. All characters belong to Rick Riordan, as do references made in my book to other books in this series. Enjoy!

Carter

Hey everyone, Carter here! (Sadie's making faces because I didn't let her start!) Well, it is MY turn!

Anyway, I thought that there were only going to be three recordings, but then some strange events occurred. I hope that this recording helps answer the many questions you may have, and that it informs you. Oh, and you are still welcome to Brooklyn House. We have many linen clothes, and staffs left for new initiates. So let's begin.

It all started when I visited Zia.

I walked over to Zia's new room at Brooklyn house, admiring the hallway that I walked through these days, and still glad that I survived the whole fight with Apophis. (Long back story found in our third recording). I glanced at the clean red of the carpet, and bright white of the wall. They seemed to zip past me. I was walking fairly fast.

I gradually
slowed down my very quick pace as I got closer to Zia's door. I thought about what I was about to say. Just as I was about to open her door and start off with a simple "hey" Zia crashed into me.

She was so distracted that she knocked me off my feet! Blushing, I watched as her cheeks became pink and she lightly laughed. Oh, I love her laugh! (Sadie says to get on with the story, but what about when she talks about Anubis/Walt? Ok! Sadie stop hitting me!)

"Sorry Carter!" Zia said sweetly. She helped me up and I brushed off my jeans.

I glanced at her face. It sure improved since the days when she was hosting Ra. She noticed me staring and made a frown.

"Nothing" I said simply before she could even ask.

"You aren't teaching a class?" she asked me.

"No" I answered. You see, even though it was Monday afternoon and the initiates were back from school, didn't mean that I needed to teach them. They had learned a lot so I let them practice on their own and work on homework on weekdays. On weekends, I taught them Egyptian magic and the path of the gods.

I smiled somewhat shyly at Zia and shuffled my feet nervously. " So, ummm.. hey, Zia do want to go to the mall?" I asked. We had gone to the mall together several times, but man I could never act normal around her!

"Sure!" she said a smile playing on her lips."Just let me get ready."

I was about to leave the room when I heard a moan escape Zia's lips. I whirled around. I saw Zia start to fall to her knees.

"Zia!" I screamed. I ran over to catch her. I held Zia in my arms for a while, listening to her moan and not knowing how to help her. Suddenly, her eyelashes fluttered open. I saw the worry in her eyes.

"Ra just sent me a message saying he wants to come back." she said trying to hide the panic in her voice."Gather our initiates, and I will explain what I saw and heard in detail".

I started to head out her door when I thought that she might collapse again. "Zia...?" I said somewhat worriedly.

She saw the panic in my eyes and started to head towards me. "Ok" she said understandingly. "I'm glad you care about me."

Then, she leaned over and kissed me lightly. I felt butterflies in my stomach.

I looked again at her worried face.

"Let's find the initiates" she said softly.
