“How’d you guys sleep?” Cato’s mom asked while we were sitting down at the table to eat breakfast.
“Fine.” I replied, looking down at my food.
“She’s stubborn.” Cato said, getting a small laugh out of our parents. I glared at him as he just smiled at me. “She wouldn’t let me cuddle with her.”
“Your right, I wouldn’t. Because I don’t like you.” I snapped.
“Well, I’m sorry. When there’s a girl in my bed, I cuddle with her; sue me. And as I recall, we just had a nice moment upstairs.” He said, looking at his food.
“Yeah, we were, but you weren’t being pigheaded like you usually are.”
“Well, as far as I know, if I had a boy as sweet and loving as Cato, I would never let him go.” Kat replied, smiling flirtatiously at Cato. She ignored my glare and continued to smile. I rolled my eyes and looked at Cato quickly. He was staring at me again.
“What?” I said, turning my head to look at Cato.
“Nothing.” He said, quickly looking back down. I brushed it off as I finished my breakfast. I put my dishes in the sink and walked back upstairs to my room. I sat on my bed and put my back against the headboard. I went through my nightstand and found a book I was reading. I got maybe ten minutes of my book read when Cato interrupted.
“Whatcha’ reading?” He said, leaning against my doorframe.
“Mm, nothing. You can come in.” I said, putting the book down. He ducked his head and walked further into the room. He sat at the foot of my bed and turned to me as I held my knees to my stomach.
“I’m sorry.” He said, startling me after a few minutes of silence.
“For what? You didn’t do anything.” I replied, finally looking at him.
“I don’t know, I just feel like you’re mad at me for something.”
“Well, I’m not, so don’t worry.” I said, crossing my legs.
“You sure?” He added, looking at me. I smiled, then leaned over and kissed his cheek. “What was that for?” He smiled at me.
“Nothing.” I replied as he leaned over. I realized what he was doing, but I didn’t move. Seconds later, I felt his lips on mine and his hands on my waist. I snaked my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me. I felt him smile through the kiss, which made me smile. I heard a knock on the door and we pulled away.
“Come in.” I said and my mother walked in.
“Cato, your parents are leaving. You can stay here if you like.”
“No, I think I should go. Bye, Jacoya.” He said standing up off my bed. I stood up and kissed him once and gave him a short hug. He smiled and kissed the top of my head, I mean, after all we are in a relationship, so why not? I smiled as I watched him walk out. Once he was out the door, I smiled and threw myself on the bed. Wait, what just happened here? I thought he hated me, and I hated him. What do I know anymore?
-Sorry, it's so short-
