Chapter 32

I rushed along the corridor. It was Saturday morning, and I was going to the Great Hall. I turned the corner and immediately saw Cami, Dexter, and Mothie. I groaned as they ran to me.

"Hello Dead Girl." Cami said.

"Is that my name now? Are you completely serious?" I said wearily. Mothie and her wrinkle their noses and Dexter stared at the ground.

"It fits you way better than anything else." Cami sneered.

"You're really making a joke about how I almost died?" I said softly.

"Does it upset you princess?" Cami cooed. I set my jaw.

"Yeah, does it? And does it upset you how nobody ever liked you? We're examples." Mothie chimed. I was feeling worse and worse by the second.

"Does it upset you how no one ever cared?" Cami said, enjoying it.

"People do care about me." I retorted, but I didn't sound as strong as I wished I could. Cami and Mothie grinned. This reminded me of when I was younger, and two boys teased me about how poor I was. I vaguely remember it was a dark-haired boy and another with light hair. I think I heard the light-haired boy's name. It was......it was Draco.

I felt lost now. Apparently they're right. No one really cares. Draco is just acting.

Cami caught this moment of agony, because she chimed, "You know no one cares! No one will ever care. So why don't you just go and make everyone happy by disappearing."

I felt my eyes flood with tears as I pushed past her and ran blindly toward the dance room. I ran in, slamming the door behind me, and went to change into my uniform. It was Saturday, so I had the whole day off.

Once I had changed, I stretched, hugging my legs, doing a front split and a side slit, then hugging my legs again and practicing my Pirouette. I was practicing my grand jete en avant when the door opened and Clay came in. She watched me as I finished.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" she said.

"Its a long story." I said, not really wanting to bring up the incident with Cami, Mothie, and Dexter.

She studied me. "I have time."

I sighed and told her everything. When I was done, her jaw was dropped in horror. I couldn't help but smile a little at how she obviously cared.

"Don't listen to those idiots! They were so stupid as to make an enemy with you. And care about you!" she said.

I smiled. "Thank you Clay. I may have known you for only two days, but you are an amazing friend."

She hugged me and I hugged back. She really was amazing, gorgeous too. She had light blue hair, big, dark blue eyes, and porcelain skin to make it all even better. Her lips were full and pink; she is tall, like me. We were both 5' 7''.

"Why are you here?" I said as I spun away, swinging from one step to the other in a straight line.

"I come here every Saturday morning." she explained. "Never really go to meals."

I stopped, a bit worried now. "Do you eat?"

"Of course! On my own though." I was relieved.

"I don't eat very often either." I said, starting on my barre exercises. Clay joined me.

"I can tell, you're very skinny. But not the bad kind of skinny,  I can tell you eat and stuff."

I giggled. "Same goes for you."

"So, do you like anyone?"

I thought. "I don't think I do. I'm so complicated that I could have a die hard crush on someone and not even know it."

She laughed.

"How about you? Do you like anyone?" I said. She blushed and I giggled. "Who?"

"You know Neville Longbottom?"

I squealed. She blushed again.

"He's so sweet and adorable. He's really nice to me and is the only person outside of dance that notices me." she said, still blushing.

"Oh my god! That is so cute! You should totally ask him out. You know he won't because hes so-" I started, she cut me off, "Shy, I know."

I grinned. She seemed to think of something and said to me, "Do you like Draco Malfoy?"

I blushed and she gaped at me. I was confused now.

"I-I don't know. I don't think I do? Why would you think that?" I said, bewildered at my reaction.

"Every time you see him, you talk to him and hug him. You always seem so happy around him! You also like to tease him, and that's a big sign of a crush."

I realized that all this was true and I blushed, gaping at my feelings. I like Draco Malfoy. I can't believe it.
