Even though Jade had consoled me, I was still a bit shaky. So I had my arms wrapped around her waist protectively and fell asleep that way. So when I woke up this morning, I blushed and I realized that Jade was already awake.
"What do you want for breakfast?" asked Jade. I shrugged and rubbed my eyes.
"Whatever you want. It is your kitchen right?"
"Yeah... It does make sense. I'm going to have some Lucky Charms." said Jade as she got up from her bed and put on her robe and slippers. I sighed and got up from the bed too and let myself collapse on her couch lazily. Then there was a loud knock on the door.
"I got it," I said as I walked to the front door and opened it. Both Ash and Gold were standing there.
"Who are you?" asked Ash suspiciously.
"Blastoise. I'll explain later," I said.
"Cool, is Jade there? We need to tell you guys something," said Gold as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
"Hey guys. Everything alright?" asked Jade as she came into the living with a bowl and a spoon in her hand.
* * *
"WHAT?!" Jade and I screamed together. Gold nodded. "It's true. Kent wants to battle you really bad and says that he has to talk to you," said Ash. Jade pinched her nose bridge and frowned.
"Why does that jerk-ass want now?" grumbled Jade. Gold, Ash and I had our jaws drop. Jade actually cursed about someone.
"I don't know... But we're going to kick his sorry ass though," I said, patting Jade's back. Okay. Kent was being a jerk then and now. What does he want from a good girl like Jade? Something is up.
"What do you want?" asked Jade, annoyed, as she was about to battle Kent the Ass. "I just want to battle you then talk later. Promise," smirked Kent as he sent out a Fearrow. "GO GHASTLY!" said Jade as a Ghastly came into battle.
"Fearrow, use PECK!" It didn't work.
"Ghastly, use CURSE!" Ghastly got a pin that went straight through his head and laid a curse on Fearrow.
"Fearrow, use GROWL!"
I started to stare at Jade's training skills, how she uses her Pokémon and what she tells them. Now, there is a Pikachu and an Onix.
"Ready to give up, 'Beginner'?" snickered Kent.
Jade rolled her eyes. "Yeah right Jackass."
"PIKACHU! Use FLASH!"
"Onix! Use SLAM!" Then, Pikachu fainted. The battle is over and Kent paid Jade 236 bucks.
"What did you want to talk about?" asked Jade, both suspicion and with caution. But suddenly something changed.
"You passed babe. You passed my test," said Kent as he pulled Jade to his lips. Jade's eyes widened but kissed back. My anger and jealousy rose. I clenched my teeth and fists tightly.
"But-you said you didn't know what you saw in me," whispered Jade in her small voice. Kent smirked.
"Well, that was my test too. But I know you're not a beginner. You're a champion. Everyone loves you. I love you," said Kent as he kissed her again.
I couldn't take it anymore. So I stormed away and went to a store's bathroom. I looked at myself at the mirror. I had tears forming in my eyes and my bottom lip quivered. "You're not human. You're just a Pokémon really," I said coldly to my reflection.
Then I cried.
